Breaking: INEC Convincingly postpones Nigeria's general election




Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) last night had an emergency meeting with securities officials, stakeholders and election observers concerning the election scheduled to hold today the 16th of February 2019. The meeting lasted till about 2 am this morning.
After having a lengthy discussion and carefully review the implementation of its logistics plan and some of the challenges that may be of detrimental to the election, the commission came into a conclusion and shifted the 2019  presidential and National assembly election from 16th February to the 23rd of February 2019 in it Abuja head office.
The chairman Of the Commission professor Mahmood Yakubu also said "the governorship, state house of assembly and federal capital territory (FCT) area council elections is rescheduled to Saturday 9th March 2019. This will afford  the commission the opportunity to address identified challenges in order to maintain  the quality of our elections"
