44 officers of the EFCC who participated in the joint field operation with the US Federal Bureau of investigations (FBI) have been awarded certificates of recognition for their involvement in the joint operation tagged Operation Rewired.
Speaking during the presentation of certificates to the EFCC officers at the Lagos office of the Commission on January 31, 2020, Heather Armstrong, Assistant Legal Attaché, FBI, said: “The FBI wishes to present the EFCC with the certification of our appreciation for continued collaboration against cybercrimes.
The purpose of this event is to show enhanced collaboration between the EFCC and the FBI on cybersecurity,”
The operation which was well conducted by efforts from the US Department of justice and EFCC lasted four 4 months, and a total of 281 foreign arrest and 167 local arrests in Nigeria was recorded.
